Kerry Logistics acquires Bofill & Arnan’s freight forwarding businesses

LBR Staff Writer Published 22 December 2016

Kerry Logistics Network has acquired the freight forwarding businesses from Spanish firm Bofill & Arnan.

The move allows Kerry Logistics to operate from four locations in Spain, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Alicante with complete service coverage of airports and seaports in the country.

The acquired businesses will enable Kerry Logistics’ service to expand service offerings and network in Spain through the addition of sales force and two offices in Valencia and Alicante.

Founded in 1920, Bofill & Arnan is a logistics and freight forwarding firm that focuses more on the China, Taiwan and India trade lanes.

The company offers freight forwarding solutions ranging from air/sea freight, customs brokerage to door-to-door solutions in a wide spectrum of industries.

Kerry Logistics Europe managing director Thomas Blank said: “The combined resources and expertise will significantly enhance our position and service capabilities in Spain and expand our market reach.

“The freight forwarding businesses of Bofill & Arnan will be integrated into our existing network and continued to be developed by the experienced management team led by Sebastian Bernardo, our Managing Director of Spain.”

In June, Kerry Logistics acquired majority interest in US-based Apex Maritime and its affiliated companies.

Based in South San Francisco, Apex Maritime provides services ranging from ocean and air freight, customs brokerage to logistics solutions.
